Mobile Marketing: The use of mobile devices is still on the rise, which only solidifies the fact that if your company is still not using mobile marketing—you need to. But simply implementing a mobile marketing campaign is not going to be enough for your company to reach the millions of people who are impacted by mobile campaigns. There are certain tactics of mobile marketing other than group text. I am highlighting about group messaging because this is something most people usually prefer. It has become more of a traditional marketing pratices  and you need to think beyond that to help you be more successful.

SMS Campaigns

SMS messages are a great way to get your customers to take quick action. For example, use SMS messaging to send them coupons or deals of the day, such as a certain percentage off their entire purchase or letting them know of an item that’s marked well below market value. The best thing about SMS marketing is that since it’s only text-based, anyone with any type of mobile phone can receive these messages. Just make sure to only send messages to people who sign up to receive them. If you start spamming phone numbers, you’re not going to find success.

Mobile Marketing

Customers with smartphones and tablets are all about the apps, and it’s one of the best ways you can succeed with mobile marketing. Many companies have jumped on board to creating apps to make the user experience better for their customers. Many banks have apps so that their customers can check balances, make transfers, pay bills and even deposit checks all through their mobile device. Insurance companies have apps that allow their customers to check coverage information as well as make an insurance claim. Even fast food restaurants like Chipotle have an app that allows customers to place an order. If you can create an app that makes your customers’ lives easier, they’ll remain customers.

The use of geolocation as a mobile marketing strategy has gained a lot of popularity over the last year. Geolocation allows you to send deals to customers who are in the area. For example, you can send a text message with a coupon to those customers who are within 5 miles of your location in order to get them to stop in.

Using tools like Foursquare or Facebook Places to get your customers to “check in” to your establishment is also a great way to use mobile marketing. Once you see that a person has checked in, you can send them special deals or even offer them a free item for every 10 or so visits. Not only does this thank them for their continued dedication to your company, but it also earns their repeat business.

Optimized Websites

Customers today are using their mobile devices for everything, including searches. It’s very important to make sure that your website is optimized for mobile. Remove any Adobe Flash elements and ensure that the navigation and text are easy to read and easy to use on a smaller screen. If a customer lands on your website during a search on their mobile device, you want to keep them there.

It’s also very important to include specific details about your products and services on your website. Not only does this help you with search engine optimization by using these keywords throughout your site, but consumers today are searching for the best prices of products while out shopping. If they find that your store has the same product as another store but that yours is much cheaper, they’ll come to you. If your site doesn’t contain this information, they’re not going to know that you offer the product or how much it’s worth.

Social Media

When it comes to social media, many people are accessing their networks through their mobile apps, which is why it’s very important for you to be on social networks and build relationships with your fans and followers. Use social media to inform your customers, but you should also use it to promote a great sale or event too.

The use of mobile devices is on the rise, and as long as the technology continues to advance and more and more people start to use these tools on a regular basis, mobile marketing is going to continue to be extremely effective. As long as your company is implementing these tactics, you’re sure to be successful.
