This screenshot is of my Gmail mailbox which previously had tons of spam mails in it. Everyday i used to get around 20-30 spam mails. But Gmail has got an anti spam feature. Even though the spam filter does its work smartly, some of them still appears in our Inbox. So in order to get rid of those some and their number in spam folder, just follow the steps below.

Step 1. Login to your Gmail account.

Step 2. Click on the Gear icon on the top right side of your Gmail.

Step 3.  Go to Mail Settings > Filters > Create New Filter

Step 4: Now in the Has the words field enter  is:spam and click Test Search. A list of spam emails appears in the same window, now Click Create Filter with this Search.

Step 5. An error pops up, deny it by clicking ok.

Step 6. Now in the box that appears,  check the “Delete it” and check “also apply filter to 2000 matching conversations” options and click Create Filter.
